There are two systems of tactile reading that have stood the test of time; braille and Moon. Braille House offers instruction in both for blind or low vision individuals who need to learn to touch read.
Braille House offer courses in three different modes: face-to-face at Braille House, remotely at one of our SE Queensland outreach centres, and distance via Zoom.
The Functional Course is designed for individuals interested in learning braille basics to read signs in the community (i.e. lift buttons and wall plaques), while the Full Course is intended for those wanting to read books from our library.
