Braille Literacy Challenge

Braille House partners with school and educational providers to develop extracurricular opportunities and learning resources for young braille learners.

Each year, Queensland school students who are blind or have low vision are invited to participate in our annual Braille Literacy Challenge. This is a reading and writing challenge where braille students come together to challenge each other in a fun and friendly way. It is a great opportunity for students to network with one another and meet other children experiencing blindness or vision loss. Teachers from various schools also benefit from meeting and sharing ideas.

This popular event represents more than a celebration of braille literacy skills; it’s also a testament to the power of inclusion and the benefits braille education impart upon our children.

If you are a braille reading student, or a parent or teacher of a braille student and would like to learn about the next Braille Literacy Challenge, please phone our office on 07 3848 5257 or complete the BLC form below.
